Open Studio is a 4-hour self-guided studio session where you are free to create and connect in our studio with likeminded sewers. Bring your sewing machine (or use one of ours!), set up, meet other creatives, and start sewing!

A Self-Guided Studio Session

We started Stitch House Studio wanting to provide a space for sewists. Open Studio is just that: a self-guided session of 4 hours where you can come into our studio, use our machines and create on your own terms!

The Stitch Shop

Our Stitch Shop is where we have additional fabrics and other notions for sale in our studio. If you need more materials, you can purchase them through our Stitch Shop.

Provided Materials

We provide basic sewing tools and our sewing machines are always available to use during Open Studio hours. Additional notions and fabrics can be purchased at our Stitch Shop.

3.5 Hrs of Studio Time

There are 3.5 hours available for each Open Studio, which gives sewers enough time to settle in, set up, start or finish a project, and clean up before the next studio session.

Open Studio

3.5 hours | $60

Our Open Studio is a self-guided studio session where you can use one of our machines or bring your own, work on projects, and connect with others in the studio! Bring your latest project, design a new project or choose from our inventory of projects and start something new as you connect with other creatives, share tips and tricks, socialize and tap into your creativity. 

Our instructors will be around to observe and help if needed. However, 1:1 detailed instruction is not provided. If you are unsure about your skill level, our Adult Sewing 101 Class is a great place to start, and will give you the tools you need to create freely in Open Studio! Or you can inquire via email about a private, one on one session. We do require sewing machine knowledge for Open Studio, to ensure a safe environment when using sewing machines and other equipment. 

We highly recommend bringing any materials needed for your project. If you’d like to look through our fabric selections, you’re welcome to purchase them in the studio at our Stitch Shop! We provide up to 8 sewing machine spots, a table/work area, thread, tools, and other basic materials.

You must know basic sewing safety, how to use a machine, and how to sew. You do not have to have taken a class at Stitch House Studio to join an Open Studio. However, if you are an adult new to sewing, we recommend taking our Sewing 101 Class.

  • Yes! You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine into the studio if you are more comfortable using your own. We are not responsible for any damage to your machine.

  • We have 8 sewing machine desk spaces, so there are 8 spots available to ensure that each student can enjoy their own creative space comfortably.

  • Open Studio sessions are 3.5 hours each
